In most of the articles on this website, displayed media will consist of still images and videos from our personal collection, and embedded videos from YouTube. The size and orientation of the presentation of our personal photos and videos will follow these basic types:
- small, left justified
- small, right justified
- medium, left justified
- medium, right justified
- medium, centered
- large, centered
You will also see collections of our photographs arranged in slideshows. The width and orientation will follow the same conventions as listed above. The slideshows will probably contain photos of various aspect ratios, therefore with the width fixed, the height can vary from slide to slide. With text floating around the slideshow box, that variation in height will move the surrounding text accordingly. That might be annoying if it disturbs your reading, so there is a pause button that you can click to stop the slides from changing.
If you are reading an article in Japanese, you will probably see some image and video descriptions in English and some in Japanese. English is the default language for the image and video descriptions and will be displayed even if Japanese language has been selected for the page if a Japanese language description has not been defined for a particular image or video.
Lastly, to round out our assortment of information and entertainment, we will also sometimes embed YouTube videos in an article.
